British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities confirmed on Wednesday evening. The fighter was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on Monday, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, representatives had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two trusted companions.”

His release from the hospital arrives after the sports world shared condolences for the star in the following the heartbreaking incident.
