Player's Prior Off-Field Troubles
The receiver missed the first six games of this season following an NFL suspension for his involvement in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that left multiple people injured. Rice was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
Statistically, he concluded the year with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City finished 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
