The children's author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.
Best-selling writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.
An official for the firm stated: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the move was reached following an inquiry regarding claims about questionable actions towards women.
The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."
An Illustrious Writing Journey
Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.
Several of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.
To date, he has released over four dozen titles altogether, which features a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.
From Screen to Page
His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.
This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
